VESEVO ENSIS AGLIANICO TAURASI DOCG
VESEVO ENSIS AGLIANICO TAURASI DOCG
Grape variety: Aglianico
Production Area: province of Avellino
Vineyards: Our vineyards are located between 500 and 700 meters above sea level, and are always subject to a fresh breeze that comes from the Gulf of Naples. This same breeze has, over the centuries, blown volcanic ash from Vesuvius towards the hinterland, making the soil rich in a basaltic component that characterizes the minerality of our Ensis Taurasi.
Vinification: Destemming and delicate pressing. Maceration for 20-25 days at 26-28 °C Barrel aging for 16 months in a particular selection of French oak chosen by our chief winemaker Dennis Verdecchia and subsequent maturation in the bottle.
Sensory Characteristics: Intense ruby red. Characterized by a broad and deep bouquet where hints of sweet spices, liquorice, rhubarb and tobacco stand out together with floral notes (violet). Notes of ripe fruit, plums and cherries are perceived. Exceptional minerality and important tannins. Remarkable long finish.
Food pairings: Aglianico is a bold and proudly carnivorous wine, making it perfect for pairing with various meat dishes. Excellent with robust first courses, roasts, game and robust sauces. Also good as a meditation wine.
